The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) in conjunction with the Rural Fire Service and NSW Fire and Rescue, is conducting a hazard reduction burn at the Landings Creek in Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park from Thursday 29.
Around 70 hectares will be treated on Thursday 29 and Friday 30 April, weather permitting.
For the duration of the burn, Bobbin Head Road in Ku-ring-gai Chase NP will be closed to all vehicles, cyclists and walkers.
Traffic management will be in place as access to Bobbin Head and Apple Tree Bay will only be available via Ku-ring-gai Chase Road, Mt Colah entrance.
Smoke may impact visibility on Bobbin Head Road, Ku-ring-gai Chase Road and surrounding local residential streets during the operation, and drivers are urged to take care.
It is important this burn goes ahead to help protect residents and businesses from future large fire events. It will also help to maintain biodiversity and reduce fuel loads in the area.
The operation will depend on suitable weather conditions. If weather conditions are unfavourable on the planned days, this notice will remain valid and the burn will be rescheduled for following days.

People with asthma or who are susceptible to respiratory problems are advised to keep clear of the area or stay indoors.
Mopping up operations will continue for several days and public access to the burn area will be restricted until a safety assessment has been undertaken.
The hazard reduction burn will be a joint operation between NPWS, the NSW Rural Fire Service and NSW Fire and Rescue.
