65 Brisbane Street, Hobart
The Hobart City Council Planning Authority Committee has accepted a development application for demolition and new building for general retail and hire, business and professional services and eight multiple dwellings and associated works for 65 Brisbane Street Hobart.
The proposal includes partial demolition of existing car park fixtures and construction of a five-storey mixed-use building near Brisbane Street. It will feature retail space, two levels of office tenancies, residential apartments, and penthouses. Existing car parking and heritage buildings on site will be retained, with landscaping to enhance the heritage setting.

Officer level development applications approved between 15 July and 29 July 2025
Between Hobart City Council Planning Authority Committee meetings, the City's Planning Officers are busy reviewing a range of residential and commercial development applications for Hobart.
Since the last meeting, 17 development applications delegated to council officers were also approved while 27 development applications are currently being advertised.
A reminder that the Council has a planner on duty during office hours which members of the community can call through our Customer Services to check to see whether any development or work to a garden will require planning approval.
