The Merbein Community Hub will celebrate its 10th birthday this week, marking a decade serving a vital role for the Sunraysia community.

From a flexible space for local user groups through to community meetings during emergencies such as the recent Murray River flood event, the Merbein Community Hub has served a valuable and flexible role for local residents and organisations across the region.

Construction of the Merbein Community Hub, in 2012, was funded by Mildura Rural City Council and the Victorian Government.

Featuring two flexible meeting rooms, amenities, a large open foyer and access to the technology infrastructure of the main Merbein Library building, the Community Hub has been used for broad range of purposes over the past decade.

Officially opened on 22 March 2013, the Community Hub also allows the Merbein Library to provide many more children's programs than it otherwise would be able to due to the additional flexible space it provides. This includes Storytime sessions, interactive games and craft activities.

To mark the popular venue's 10th birthday this month, the community is invited to several special activities this week:

Tuesday 21 March

Birthday-themed Storytime session from 10am

Thursday 23 March

Afterschool Makerspace program from 3:45pm

Friday 24 March

Birthday-themed Storytime session from 10am
