Help name new Robinvale Library

Council is seeking feedback from the community to help finalise the new name for the Robinvale College and Community Library building.

The new library opened in January and is a space shared by the Robinvale College and the wider

community.

Mayor Bill Moar thanked the Robinvale community for recently submitting their name suggestions.

"The library naming panel met last week and have now selected two potential names, from a great range of local suggestions.

"It was fantastic to get so much input from the community - so we are putting the call out again," he said.

"The panel has narrowed it down to two names that the community can vote on. They are "Robinvale Learning and Community Hub" and "Gathering Place."

Cr Moar said the name with the highest votes will then need to be submitted to Geographic Names Victoria for final approval.

"We hope that by seeking community input, this further emphasises the shared community ownership of the Robinvale Community Library and building," he added.

Voting can be completed via Council's website by clicking here.

Hard copies are also available from the library and the Robinvale College front office.

Voting will open from Tuesday, 9 March and voting forms must be submitted either online or to the library by 4pm, Wednesday, 24 March 2021.

The $2.55 million Robinvale Community Library Hub project is funded by Victorian State Government and Council. It is being managed by the Victorian Schools Building Authority and Department of Education and Training.
