Wyndham Council wants to hear from residents and businesses to help shape the future of the Point Cook Pop Up Park following CoLocal's decision to cease managing the site within Stockland Point Cook.
Since 2018, CoLocal has brought to life this community space - on a Council-owned road - managing an annual program and activations. Council is grateful for the work they have done in this space.
With CoLocal's decision to cease its involvement, Stockland has indicated its preference to conclude the park's operation and reopen the space as a road.
Council now wants to hear what the community thinks before a decision is made.
Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Mia Shaw, explained that as Wyndham City manages the road that forms the site of the Point Cook Pop Up Park and, in light of these updates from CoLocal and Stockland, Council would seek community feedback to guide the future of this space.
"Wyndham City values the space as an important part of local life and we want to hear from our community - how do you use the space and what would you like to see happen there in the future?"
"It is also important that we hear from businesses in the area, who rely on foot traffic moving through the space."
"For the past eight years, the Point Cook Pop-up Park has been a vibrant community and cultural hub - a place to celebrate and connect with one another and we thank Co-Local for their dedication and passion in bringing so much joy to the community."
"Community feedback is now open until 15 September, and we encourage residents and businesses to share their thoughts and help shape the future of the site by completing the survey online or dropping into one of our pop-up engagement sessions on 23 August or 7 and 11 September."
