Goulburn Mulwaree Council is inviting community feedback on proposed changes to parking arrangements surrounding Goulburn Base Hospital and Goulburn High School.
A temporary parking permit scheme was introduced in 2019 to support residents, hospital and school staff, students, and visitors during major hospital reconstruction works. The scheme was extended in 2023, with Council committing to a full review of parking in the area.
The review found high occupancy in nearby streets, but less than 30% of vehicles displayed a parking permit. With hospital works now complete, Council is proposing to remove the permit scheme and implement a mix of "Unrestricted Parking", "2P 6am–6pm Mon–Fri" and "4P 6am–6pm Mon–Fri" zones.
This change aims to better manage parking availability, especially for residents and short-term visitors, while reducing long-term vehicle storage on residential streets.
