Help shape water future of our city

The City of Whittlesea is developing a plan to create a sustainable and liveable water future for the municipality.

The Integrated Water Management Strategy and Action Plan will help Council to become a Water Sensitive City* by 2040.

Mayor Lawrie Cox said the plan would guide the design of neighbourhoods, inform planning and decisions and improve water management assets and practices.

"Throughout our day we can see the value of water resources where we live, work and play," Cr Cox said.

"Whether it is ensuring our street trees flourish or the turf at our sporting clubs remains soft and green, water is a part of our everyday.

"We are a diverse and evolving municipality growing substantially whilst experiencing a changing climate, so it is important that we take care of our water resources."

Residents can have a say on water management options for the municipality by completing a water and community priorities survey.
