Help sought as PTC officers probe passenger assault, NSW

High-quality CCTV images have been released as police continue to investigate an assault on a train travelling between Rockdale and Bondi Junction last month, NSW Police say.

Officers from the Police Transport Command South/South West Sector are investigating the assault of a 31-year-old male passenger who was attacked about 6.30pm on Saturday 6 October 2018.

Police have been told the passenger was with two friends when he was approached by a man who kicked him in the head three times before leaving the train at Banksia Train Station.

The injured man was treated for serious swelling and bruising as a consequence of the assault.

Police have now released an image of a man who they believe may be able to assist with inquiries.

He is described as being Caucasian in appearance with a solid build and long dark hair.

At the time of the incident he was wearing a beige-coloured zip-up jacket with blue pants and white joggers. He was also wearing a red cap and carrying a black bag.

Anyone who may be able to assist with their investigations should contact Crime Stoppers.
