On behalf of the City of Adelaide, I share our city's deepest condolences with the Royal Family on this saddest of days.
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II reigned with distinction for more than 70 years and had a strong connection with Adelaide and South Australia.
South Australians, like all Australians, had a real affection and deep respect for Her Majesty.
After her first visit in 1954, the Queen came to South Australia on another six occasions, up until 2002, and was always so warmly welcomed by South Australians.
To acknowledge the passing of Her Majesty The Queen, flags at Adelaide Town Hall are at half-mast and a condolence book will be made available in the Queen Adelaide Room in the Adelaide Town Hall.
