The Georges River Libraries Great Big Book Sale returns on Saturday, 30 May 2026!
This popular annual event offers an extensive range of pre-loved books, CDs, DVDs and toys at low-cost prices, making it the perfect opportunity to build your personal collection while supporting your local library. There will be thousands of items available to explore for all ages and areas of interest.
Pick up fiction, non-fiction and children's books for as little as $4 each or $20 for 10 items. A special half-price discount will apply for all Georges River Library Members, so if you haven't joined the library yet, we encourage you to apply online today! This year, the Great Big Book Sale will be held at the newly built Peakhurst Park Community Centre. Families are encouraged to make a fun day of it, with story times, face painting and craft activities to keep children entertained throughout the day.
Georges River Council Mayor Elise Borg said this much‑loved community event brings people together through a shared love of reading.
"This event is a wonderful way for residents to access books and educational resources at very low prices, while also giving pre‑loved items a new life in another home," said Mayor Borg.
"Hosting the Book Sale at the new Peakhurst Park Community Centre also gives families a chance to see and enjoy this fantastic new space."
