High-ranking Finks OMCG member charged over firearm possession

A high-ranking member of the Finks outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG) will appear in court today after Strike Force Raptor seized a semi-automatic assault rifle during a Firearms Prohibition Order (FPO) search in Sydney's west earlier this year.

As part of ongoing targeting of the illicit activities of OMCGs, Strike Force Raptor conducted a FPO search at a home on Dara Crescent, Glenmore Park, on Thursday 10 January 2019.

During the search, police seized a semi-automatic assault rifle.

The firearm has been forensically examined and is now undergoing ballistic examination.

Following further inquiries, a 40-year-old man was arrested by Strike Force Raptor at a home in Edmondson Park about 8.30am yesterday (Sunday 23 June 2019).

He was taken to Liverpool Police Station and charged with possess unregistered firearm-prohibited firearm, posses shortened firearm without authority, acquire prohibited firearm-subject prohibition order, and not keep firearm safely.

The Edmondson Park man, who is a high-ranking member of the Finks OMCG, was refused bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court today (Monday 24 June 2019).
