More than 120 members of the Highlands community came together on Wednesday night for a community dinner focused on connection and recovery following the recent fires.
Hosted in partnership with Murrindindi Shire Council, the evening provided an opportunity for residents to reconnect in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
Woodfire pizza was served fresh throughout the night, face painting brought colour and energy for local families and live music created an uplifting atmosphere.
Recovery specialists Anne Leadbeater and Susie Burke spoke about the importance of community connection in the recovery journey. They reminded attendees that recovery is not only about rebuilding homes and fences. It is also about restoring spirit, strengthening relationships and creating space to pause and reflect.
The event offered residents time to breathe, relax and rediscover the comfort of being together.
Mitchell Shire Council thanks everyone who attended and contributed to making the first Highlands community dinner a meaningful and memorable evening.
The next community dinner will be held on Wednesday 18 March. All residents are encouraged to attend.
