Hit & Run Charges At Rockingham

Officers from the Major Crash Investigation Section have charged a 36-year-old man in relation to an alleged hit and run incident that occurred in Rockingham on Sunday, 18 May 2025.

It will be alleged about 5pm, a maroon Nissan X-Trail station sedan struck a female pedestrian, who was walking on Evinrude Bend.

It will be further alleged; the driver failed to stop and render assistance.

Emergency services attended the scene.

The 58-year-old female pedestrian was conveyed to Royal Perth Hospital via St. John WA for treatment of critical injuries sustained.

The driver was located a short time later and was arrested.

A 36-year-old man from Henley Brook has been charged with:

• 1 x Driver Failed to Stop and Ensure Assistance Received after Incident Occasioning Grievous Bodily Harm

• 1 x Driver Fail to report an Incident Occasioning Death or Grievous Bodily Harm

• 1 x Dangerous Driving Occasioning Grievous Bodily Harm - Under the Influence of Alcohol and Drugs

He is due to appear before the Rockingham Magistrates Court on Monday 19 May 2025.
