The University of Hong Kong (HKU) has achieved outstanding results in the 2026 Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings by Subject, reaffirming its position as a leading institution both globally and locally across multiple academic disciplines.
Education Studies remains HKU's highest-ranked subject, placing 7th worldwide and 1st in Hong Kong. Locally, HKU secures the top position for nine out of the 11 subjects ranked. Notably, Engineering has been ranked 1st in Hong Kong this year, alongside the following subjects: Education Studies, Medical and Health, Law, Social Sciences, Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, Arts & Humanities, and Psychology.
