A recent Tourism Council WA survey has found 51 per cent of Western Australians were more likely to travel in WA due to the conflict in the Middle East.
The WA Travellers' Intention Survey was conducted from March 10 to March 15 and included 750 Western Australian respondents.
Tourism Council WA CEO Evan Hall said Western Australians should book their local holidays now to ensure they didn't miss out as travel in WA will increase due to concerns over international travel.
"We continue to see strong demand for the Easter long weekend and school holidays in WA," Mr Hall said.
"Assurances of adequate fuel supplies from the Federal and WA Governments are maintaining consumer confidence in Easter travel plans.
"The State Government should prioritise regional roadhouses and petrol stations on holiday travel routes to prepare for the usual influx of travellers during the Easter school holidays."
Mr Hall said Western Australian holiday destinations booked out quickly during peak school holiday periods.
The WA Travellers' Intention Survey also revealed 41 per cent of Western Australians were less likely to travel overseas in the next six months amid international travel uncertainty.
"By booking early and outside of school holidays, you can confidently enjoy a holiday while providing businesses the confidence to recruit additional staff, stock up on supplies, and offer more services to guests," Mr Hall said.
"We would also recommend travellers consider booking directly with tourism operators or through local visitor centres. By comparison, online booking agents charge up to 30 per cent in commission, so by contacting the business or visitor centre directly, you may receive the best deals and most accurate travel advice."
