- Refurbishments completed in Bondini community under the $350 million Remote Communities Fund
- Delivered through collaboration between the Cook Government, Traditional Owners, Aboriginal businesses, and community partners
- $4 million investment to upgrade 13 Bondini homes, with more projects underway across WA
Works to refurbish homes in the Goldfields-Esperance community of Bondini are complete under the Cook Government's $350 million Remote Communities Fund (RCF).
The RCF is part of the State Government's record $6.3 billion investment in housing and homelessness measures since 2021.
Located 10 kilometres east of Wiluna, Bondini is home to around 100 residents and was the first community to benefit from refurbishments through the RCF initiative.
The refurbished homes feature new kitchen cabinetry, upgraded bathroom floors and fixtures, floor coverings, wall insulation, security screens, internal and external painting, and roof repairs.
A total of 13 homes in Bondini have been upgraded under the program, representing a $4 million investment in the community.
The project was delivered through a partnership between the Department of Housing and Works, local residents and community leaders, the Aboriginal Lands Trust, Aboriginal business Boodjera Construct, and the Traditional Owners Tarlka Matuwa Piarku Aboriginal Corporation.
Support was also provided by the Wiluna Mining Corporation, Arise ATSI Corporation, No Limits Perth, and Ngangganawili Aboriginal Health Service to help families move into their upgraded homes with essential furniture and household items.
The refurbishments were staged and involved the careful temporary relocation of tenants while works were underway.
Further RCF refurbishment projects are already underway or completed in Mowanjum, Burrinunga, Beagle Bay, and Warmun communities.

As stated by Aboriginal Affairs Minister Don Punch:
"Delivering these upgraded homes in Bondini reflects the strength and resilience of the community, and our shared commitment to supporting families to live well on Country.
"This investment goes beyond housing - it's about helping people stay strong on Country, creating meaningful opportunities for local participation, and showing what can be achieved when government and community work together in genuine partnership."
As stated by Kalgoorlie MLA Ali Kent:
