A man has died following an altercation with another man at Redbank last night.
At 10.25pm police were called to a unit block on Mine Street following reports a man had sustained stab wounds.
On arrival, police located a 63-year-old Riverview man with several serious wounds.
Emergency services provided treatment to the man however he died a short time later.
A 28-year-old Boronia Heights man was taken into custody at the scene and is now assisting police with enquiries.
A crime scene has been put in place while officers work to determine the circumstances surrounding the altercation.
Police investigations are ongoing.
