More than 50,000 people are expected to gather across the city this ANZAC Day as Perth pauses to honour the service and sacrifice of Australia's veterans and serving personnel.
The City of Perth will once again support a full day of commemorative events in partnership with RSLWA, including the Dawn Service, Gunfire Breakfast, ANZAC Day March and the inclusive Sunset Service.
Throughout the day, the City will provide opportunities for both quiet reflection and community connection, ensuring people of all ages and abilities can take part in this important national occasion.
Irwin Street will come alive with the ANZAC Day Family and Mateship Event, offering a welcoming space for people to come together following the formal proceedings. Visitors can enjoy a range of food trucks and a licensed area in a relaxed, family-friendly environment.
City of Perth Lord Mayor Bruce Reynolds said ANZAC Day continues to hold deep meaning for the Perth community.
"ANZAC Day is one of the most important days on our calendar. It's a time to pause, reflect, and recognise the service and sacrifice of those who have served our country," Mr Reynolds said.
"For me, like many, it's also deeply personal. My grandfather landed at Gallipoli, and both sides of my family served my father and uncles among them during the Second World War. Like many Australian families, the pride in that legacy has been passed down through generations.
"In the early hours of the morning, and again as the March moves through our city, you see Perth at its best people standing together in quiet respect, honouring those who came before us for us.
"We are proud to support RSLWA in delivering these commemorative events and to ensure there are spaces across our city for reflection, remembrance and connection.
"ANZAC Day holds special meaning for Australians of all ages. Whether you attend the Dawn Service, line the streets for the March, or simply take a moment with family, what matters is that we remember and that we carry that spirit forward."
As part of the wider Lotterywest Boorloo Heritage Festival, activations will complement the day's commemorations. This includes a special ANZAC-themed tour at the Bell Tower, offering visitors a deeper understanding of Perth's wartime history.
The Government House grounds will once again feature a striking installation of thousands of hand-knitted poppies, created by the dedicated RSLWA Poppy Ladies as a tribute to those who have served.
To support attendance, free parking will be available in all City of Perth parking bays throughout the day.
Please note that the City of Perth Library and Citiplace Community Centre will be closed on ANZAC Day. Road closures will also be in place to safely accommodate the Dawn Service and ANZAC Day March.
