Hooked On Crocket: Bayside

Bayside Council is stitching together creativity, connection and wellbeing with the launch of its vibrant new youth craft club, Hooked on Crochet, an inspiring after-school program designed to get young people hands-on and hooked on a timeless skill.

Held at Rockdale Library, Hooked on Crochet meets on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month from 4:00pm to 6:00pm, offering a relaxed and welcoming space for young people to learn, create and connect.

Once considered a traditional pastime, crochet is making a major comeback, with a new generation embracing its creative possibilities and calming benefits. From social media trends to growing community interest, more young people are discovering the joy of making something with their own hands.

Crochet is not only fun and expressive, it's also a mindful, screen-free activity that supports focus, reduces stress and builds confidence through achievable, hands-on projects. Whether crafting something simple or more ambitious, participants can enjoy the satisfaction of seeing their ideas come to life.

Hooked on Crochet is the perfect opportunity to learn a new skill, meet like-minded friends and unwind in a supportive environment. Participants are welcome to bring along their own projects or start fresh, with yarn and crochet hooks provided. Registration is essential.
