Hotel robbery thwarted at Brahma Lodge, South Australia

A masked man carrying a machete has been stopped from entering a northern suburbs hotel overnight.

Just before 2am on Friday 29 January, a man wearing a black hooded top, a black skeleton mask, wearing blue gloves and carrying a machete, was denied entry to the Brahma Lodge Hotel on Main North Road but hotel security.

The masked man approached the front doors of the hotel, but despite the hotel still being open, the glass doors had been locked earlier by hotel security.

The would be robber waved his machete around in an angry gesture but the doors remained locked and he walked off empty handed, last seen walking towards Francis Road.

Police were called and patrols searched the area including a police dog patrol but the suspect wasn't located.

Anyone with information on the incident including persons or vehicles seen in the vicinity of the hotel between 1.30 and 2am this morning is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
