About The Study: This study documents out-of-state Chicago Abortion Fund (CAF) callers traveling more than 3 times the distance to Illinois after Dobbs compared with before, with age younger than 18 years, private or no insurance, rural zip code, second trimester of pregnancy, and hospital-based care also associated with further travel distance. The CAF provides logistical and financial support to individuals seeking abortion, with the majority of CAF callers obtaining care in Illinois, the state with the largest cumulative increase in abortion provision since Dobbs.
