We're partnering with the Victorian Government to upgrade the outdoor learning environment at Hughesdale Kindergarten, located at 10 Freda Street, Hughesdale.

The Victorian Government is fully funding the $1 million project, with Council managing construction.

The upgrade brings practical improvements and fun new features, including:

  • a new undercover verandah with clear blinds to protect from bad weather
  • shade sails for sun protection
  • soft-fall surfaces for safe running and jumping
  • extra pathways for easy movement and accessibility
  • a new modern play unit and double swing set
  • modern storage shed and a new location for the kindergarten chicken coop.

Children will enjoy an engaging outdoor space designed for inclusive, nature-inspired play that meets today's standards for early learning.

The design has been carefully planned to make the best use of the site's existing plants and trees, ensuring all significant trees are retained.
