IAEA Inspections in Iran Pave Way for Progress

In his opening statement to the IAEAs Board of Governors today, Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi said Iran's nuclear programme remained at the centre of IAEA efforts.

Mr Grossi said he had been "continuously and systematically" reaching out to restore the indispensable cooperation between the Agency and Iran, adding that "progress has been made" during ongoing technical discussions.

Success of the discussions between Iran and the IAEA, would mean "other important diplomatic consultations and processes will find a promising ground upon which to advance towards positive outcomes."

"There is still time, not much, but always enough when there is good faith and a clear sense of responsibility."
