ICE, prescription drugs, cash seized; driver charged in Nimbin

A man is in court today charged after methylamphetamines, prescription drugs, cash and mobile phones were seized after a vehicle stop at Nimbin this morning, NSW Police say.

Officers from Richmond Police District stopped the vehicle after the driver was seen allegedly driving at high speed through Nimbin township about 1.30am (Monday 19 November 2018).

The 34-year-old man was subjected to a roadside breath test which proved negative; however, a roadside drug test returned a positive result and the man was arrested.

Police searched the vehicle, seizing methylamphetamine, $9220 cash, two mobile phones, a set of scales, two bottles containing testosterone, and packets of prescription medication.

The man, from Girards Hill, was taken to Lismore Police Station where he was charged with seven offences,

• Supply prohibited drug (indictable quantity)

• Possess prohibited drug x two counts

• Possess/attempt to, prescribed restricted substance x two counts

• Deal with property proceeds of crime

• Possession of equipment for administering prohibited drugs.

He has been refused bail to appear in Lismore Local Court later today.
