Identity of Mazda 6 driver unknown

Police are asking the driver of a Mazda 6 sedan to come forward as the investigation into a fatal collision at Elizabeth Vale on Christmas Day continues.

Just after 7.30pm on Wednesday 25 December, police and paramedics responded to reports of a pedestrian being struck by a car on John Rice Avenue.

The pedestrian, a 23-year-old man from Davoren Park, sustained critical injuries in the crash and sadly died later in hospital.

The car, a white Mitsubishi Lancer, was towed from the scene for examination and police are speaking with the female driver as part of their investigation into the fatal crash.

Major Crash Investigators have identified a grey or silver 2002-2005 Mazda 6 sedan (similar to the one pictured) that was in the vicinity when the collision occurred and believe the driver and any occupants of the vehicle may be able to assist the investigation.

Anyone with information that may help police to identify the driver of this vehicle or any occupants at the time of the crash is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online at www.crimestopperssa.com.au
