Dutton Park detectives have charged a man following investigations into a woman being indecently assaulted at a Fairfield shopping centre on 25 July.
At approximately 10am, a 22-year-old woman was approached by a man while she was walking through a Fairfield Road shopping centre.
It will be alleged the man indecently assaulted the woman and attempted to flee on foot before being restrained by members of the public and subsequently arrested by police.
It is also alleged the man had entered a nearby grocery store and stolen a number of groceries.
The 29-year-old Moorooka man was charged with one count each of sexual assault, stealing and common assault.
He was remanded in custody and is expected to reappear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on 6 August.
