In line with State and Federal public health advice, Council has decided to postpone all events and large gatherings that have been organised by Council.

Council's venues will be in touch with all ticket holders to notify them of the cancellations and organise a full refund.

This decision has been made in response to confirmation of the first human to human transmission of COVID-19 in Victoria, and concerns about the ability of this disease to spread where individuals are within close proximity to each other, for example, in a crowded environment.

Council will be advising all event organisers of the need to undertake social distancing measures for the following reasons:

  • To prevent the spread of COIVD-19 and protect individual and community health
  • To reduce the impact on the healthcare sector and the subsequent demand on the healthcare system
  • To protect vulnerable groups and essential services staff

It is advised that events and large gatherings run by Council, are cancelled or postponed where appropriate for one month (four weeks), as of Friday 13th March 2020. Regular reviews of this arrangement, including duration, will be made as more information is gathered.
