International Day of People with Disability grants announced

The McGowan Government has today announced the successful applicants for the 2018 International Day of People with Disability grants round.

More than 50 events and activities across Western Australia have been supported by the State Government with grants of up to $1,000.

The United Nations-sanctioned International Day of People with Disability will be held on Monday, December 3.

The theme for International Day of People with Disability for 2018 is 'empowering persons with disabilities and ensuring inclusiveness and equality'.

The 50 State Government-funded events will be staged over the week commencing December 3, from Denmark and Albany in the south to Karratha and Derby in the north.

Activities range from free performances, exhibitions and community stalls to film screenings and sporting events - including one for surfers with disability.
