Investigation continues after Southbank assault

Police are continuing their investigation into a serious assault in Southbank in October that has left a man in hospital in a serious condition.

A 25-year-old Springvale man was allegedly struck during an altercation between two groups of men along Riverside Quay about 12.40am on 30 October.

A 25-year-old man from Keysborough and a 25-year-old man from Cheltenham were also injured and received treatment for facial injuries.

Detectives from Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit executed two search warrants at residences in Altona Meadows on 4 and 10 November.

Two 26-year-old men were arrested at the scene and have been charged with affray, recklessly cause serious injury and recklessly cause injury.

Investigators have released images of another man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

He is perceived to be of middle eastern descent and approximately 25-30 years old.

He was wearing black jeans, a green/black puffer jacket and white shoes.
