Investigation into man's death on King William Road, South Australia

At 9.27 pm on Friday 27 May 2022 Police received numerous calls from members of the public reporting two men fighting on King William Road, Adelaide, adjacent to Parliament House.

Police attended immediately and both men were restrained and placed under arrest. During the arrest, one of the men became unresponsive.

Police and SA Ambulance Staff commenced CPR however man was pronounced deceased at the scene.

This matter has been determined to be a death in police custody.

Major Crime and Ethical and Professional Standards detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.

The investigation is in the early stages and is ongoing.
