Investigation into robbery in Newcastle

Police are appealing for public assistance following a robbery north of Newcastle early this morning, NSW Police say.

About 1.40am (Tuesday 13 November 2018), two men entered a service station on Cormorant Street, Kooragang, and approached the front counter.

Police have been told one of the men threatened the employee.

The employee fled into an office and the man took cigarettes and cash, before both men fled on foot.

The employee was uninjured and officers from Newcastle City Police District were notified and commenced an investigation.

Anyone with information or who may have dashcam footage from Cormorant Street is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
