Investigations underway following carjacking in Kogarah

Police are investigating after a woman was carjacked at Kogarah overnight.

About 10:25pm (Tuesday 1 January 2018), a 52-year-old woman parked her car on Railway Parade, Kogarah.

A man approached the woman and threatened her with a knife before demanding she leave the vehicle.

The woman complied, and the man drove off in the car heading north on Railway Parade towards Rockdale.

Officers from St George Police Area Command were notified and patrolled for the vehicle without success.

The man with the knife has been described as approximately 30-years-old, 175cms tall, of medium build with a short dark beard and tanned skin.

The woman's car is a black 2018 Toyota Yaris with NSW registration YIY53C
