A lot of people wonder which herbs or vitamins you can take, or therapies that are okay to try if you have cancer. Called complementary therapies, these are things that are used along with your conventional medical treatment.
Traditional healing or bush medicine, Chinese herbal medicine, massage, meditation and yoga are just a few commonly used complementary therapies, and there are lots of other options.

It's important to tell your doctor about anything you are taking now, or new therapies you want to try. They won't be upset, but they know best what's safe for your situation. Also talk to your qualified complementary therapist about the cancer. This is because even some "safe" therapies may affect certain cancer types or treatments.
