It's time for FunLoong Fun Day

Hargreaves Mall and Williamson Street will be bursting with fun activities as part of the 2019 FunLoong Fun Day which takes place between 11am and 2pm on Saturday October 19.

City of Greater Bendigo Director of Health and Wellbeing Vicky Mason said the City is committed to providing a range of free, family friendly events throughout the year and

FunLoong Fun Day is a not to be missed free event for families.

"This free and inclusive event is always very well attended and much looked forward to by both children and their families," Ms Mason said.

"It's the highlight of the City's children's events calendar and we expect to see families come along in big numbers again this year."

The FunLoong Day 2019 program features a huge range of fun entertainment and activities between 11am and 2pm.

Activities in the Hargreaves Mall include the UFS Pharmacies stage entertainment featuring performances by Indigenous Hip Hop Group, Bong Bong Hat Band, CV Lion Dancers and BSE Academy of Creative Arts.

There will also be animal displays, jumping castle, circus activities face-painting, colouring, painting, balloon twisting, henna painting, LEGO play, a photo booth, sound making experiences with the Discovery Centre, Mobile Playzone, Bunnings planting workshop, story time and much more.

As part of the day's activities Williamson Street will close to traffic between Hargreaves Street and Lyttleton Terrace to become The Zone Open Streets. Features of the Zone Open Streets this year includes stage entertainment, the Zone Big Baller, learn to ride park, meltdown challenge, giant bubbles, AFL handball competition, basketball shoot out with the Bendigo Braves and much more. There will also be free child restraint checks and advice on safely transporting children in cars.

The Kangaroo Flat Rotary Club will be selling sausages and vegie burgers for only $1 each and the Coliban Water trailer will also be available for people to refill their water bottles.
