Jemena is proud to announce its 2025 Community Grants Program, offering grants of up to $10,000 to support community-led initiatives that promote wellbeing, inclusion, and resilience across its operating areas in New South Wales and Victoria, is now open.
Applications open on Friday, 18 July 2025 and close at 5pm on Sunday, 3 August 2025 (AEST).
Now in its seventh year, the program has already provided about $870,000 in funding to 85 community groups. This includes $70,000 awarded earlier this month to initiatives supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
For its second round of grants in 2025, Jemena is inviting applications for initiatives that address disadvantage from not-for-profit organisations, schools, and charities delivering projects in:
- Jemena Gas Network areas in Sydney and regional New South Wales, and communities near the Eastern Gas Pipeline including Michelago (2620) and Mila (2632)
- communities near the Eastern Gas Pipeline and Gippsland operations in Sale (3850), Longford (3851), and East Sale (3852) in Victoria
- the Jemena Electricity Network area in Melbourne's north-west.
Craig Ypinazar, Jemena's Executive General Manager, People, Safety and Governance said the program reflects the company's commitment to supporting the communities where it operates:
"We know that local organisations are at the heart of strong, connected communities. Through our Community Grants Program, we're proud to support initiatives that provide vital services, promote inclusion, and help people thrive - especially those experiencing disadvantage," Mr Ypinazar said.
"We encourage eligible groups to apply and share their ideas for making a positive impact."
The 2025 grants will prioritise projects that align with Jemena's Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) Plan, including:
- support services for people experiencing disadvantage (for example, food programs);
- social enterprises and capacity-building initiatives
- inclusive education, training, or employment programs
- projects tackling isolation or improving accessibility.
