Jes Broeng Awarded Ellen and Hans Hermer Foundation Grant

The Ellen and Hans Hermer Foundation awards six grants annually in recognition of significant contributions to society or outstanding scientific work. The grant includes an award of DKK 285,000. Among this year's recipients is Jes Broeng, Professor and Director of DTU Entrepreneurship, as well as the newly appointed Interim Director of DTU Skylab.

Jes Broeng is awarded the grant based on his extensive achievements as a serial entrepreneur within deep tech and his central role in DTU's long-standing efforts to build a strong entrepreneurial culture among researchers and students.

As a professor and head of DTU Entrepreneurship, Jes Broeng has also been the driving force behind the Open Entrepreneurship initiative. This initiative has created a nationwide platform for knowledge-based entrepreneurship and strengthened the collaboration between universities and the business sector. This project has been instrumental in translating research into commercial solutions and driving growth in Denmark.

Furthermore, Jes Broeng has co-authored more than 250 scientific publications and holds 22 patents. His efforts have not only solidified DTU's position as a leader in innovation and entrepreneurship but have also created new opportunities for young entrepreneurs and researchers across the country.
