Jetstar Launches Avalon-Bali Flights, Fares from $195

Monday, 23 March 2026: Jetstar today launches its first-ever direct flights to Bali (Denpasar) from Melbourne Avalon Airport, marking the return of international travel for passengers and bringing in a new era of low fares for Melbourne's west, Geelong and the Bellarine region.

The new Bali route is part of Jetstar's growth at Melbourne Avalon Airport, which also includes the return of flights to Adelaide and increased capacity to Brisbane. Together, these new and expanded routes add more than 330,000 low fare seats a year to Melbourne's second airport gateway.

To celebrate, Jetstar is launching a 48-hour First Flight Sale starting at 12 noon AEDT on 23 March, with domestic fares from $43^ (e.g. Melbourne (Avalon) to Adelaide) and fares to Bali (Denpasar) starting from $195^.

Melbourne Avalon to Bali

This afternoon's inaugural departure marks Jetstar's first international route from Melbourne Avalon Airport, and the airport's return to international flying. Operating five return flights per week aboard Jetstar's Airbus A321LR, the service adds more than 120,000 seats and connects Victoria's west to Bali in just over six hours.

The addition of the route further strengthens Jetstar's Bali network, becoming the tenth direct Australian service to the destination.

Adelaide returns, Brisbane expands

From 26 March, direct flights to Adelaide return to Melbourne Avalon Airport, providing a faster, easier connection to South Australia. With up to seven weekly return services adding up to 109,000 seats a year, Melbourne's west now has direct access to everything Adelaide and beyond has to offer.

Brisbane is also seeing growth, with up to five additional weekly flights adding up to 107,000 more seats a year between Melbourne Avalon and Queensland's capital, meaning more choice, more flexibility and more opportunities for travellers to get away for less.
