Jindabyne Sewer Pump Station Project Completed

A flat earthen area with eight concrete squares distributed throughout, each square has a chequer-plate steel hatch centred within it except for the one upon which an upright electricity cabinet has been installed, chain link fencing surrounds the compound with yellow bollards surrounding the infrastructure

The new Jindabyne Sewer Pump Station #6 entered service earlier this year, replacing a decades-old facility and giving the Jindabyne sewer network an urgently needed capacity boost as the town and its tourist industry continue to grow.

Funded by the NSW Government as part of the Snowy Mountains Special Activation Precinct, the joint major infrastructure project saw an entirely new pump station facility built, commissioned, and brought online in less than six months from start to finish.

'In order to realise the Snowy Mountains Special Activation Precinct vision for the future of Jindabyne as a world-class tourist destination, the Jindabyne of today needs the world-class services and infrastructure to match,' said Snowy Monaro Regional Council Mayor Chris Hanna.

'Thanks to this substantial investment of over $2.1M million by the NSW Government, the completion of this new pump station means that the Jindabyne economy can continue to grow, with residents already benefitting from higher quality services that are more reliable than ever.'

Council contracted ABC Civil Group to undertake this specialist construction project following a competitive tender process in late 2025.

With the NSW Government's new $160 million Jindabyne Education Campus up and running and the arrival of the spring/summer tourist season, the project team's swift and high-quality work to complete the new facility couldn't be better timed.

As the first stage in a broader precinct-backed overhaul of Jindabyne's wastewater network, the all-new Jindabyne Sewer Pump Station #6 is the latest milestone to be reached in Jindabyne's ongoing transformation to become Australia's leading year-round outdoor tourism destination.
