Jindabyne Town Centre Toilet Upgrades Progress

The Jindabyne Toilet Centre public toilet upgrades are progressing. The expected completion date for the major upgrade project has been pushed back, following the discovery of problems with the structure's concrete slab.

Crews completed the removal of old flooring tiles and grout at the facility in late December 2025, revealing the poor condition of the underlying slab.

Condition assessments confirmed that the slab needed to be removed and replaced. Council has worked with our contractors to complete the necessary designs earlier this month while work continued on site.

This additional work means the upgraded toilet block will be on solid footing for the many years of service that lie ahead. Removal of the slab also required the replacement of in-slab and under-slab plumbing.

The new slab also requires some minor work on the retaining wall between the toilets and carpark to support the upgraded facility's accessible paths.

Current estimates have the Jindabyne Town Centre public toilets on track to reopen to the public before the start of the 2026 snow season.

Project background

The Jindabyne Town Centre Amenities Upgrade Project will see the complete replacement of facility internals, major renovations to the building exterior, and improvements to surrounding paths and access points-fully funded by Snowy Monaro Regional Council.

Temporary public toilets are available in the Jindabyne Library carpark, directly next to the existing site. Additional public toilets are available at nearby Banjo Paterson Park.

Council appreciates the community's continued patience and understanding while this important upgrade project is underway.
