Campaspe Shire Council is excited to announce the return of Job Skills Grants.

The grant program involving a one-off payment of up to $250 is designed to assist 16-25 year olds completing short courses and qualifications.

Campaspe Shire Mayor, Cr Rob Amos said it is a great opportunity for Council to assist young people wanting to further their education and develop key skills.

"This grant program aims to remove barriers for young people trying to secure job ready qualifications. The idea is to put the funds towards course costs, tuition costs, transport costs or other roadblocks young people may face.

"Qualifications may include an RSA, barista course, white card, first aid, food handler, food safety supervisor, lifeguard training, and many more," Cr Amos said.

The funding is not suitable to be used for university courses and will not be approved for such use.

The grant program is now open and will close when the funding allocation has been exhausted.

The Job Skills Grants are funded through the state government's Engage! funding, which aims to promote youth participation, development and celebration across the Shire.
