Following the resignation of former Stonnington East Ward Councillor Alexander Lew, the Victorian Electoral Commission conducted a countback of all votes from the last general election held in October 2020.
The countback was held on Wednesday 18 January and resulted in the declaration of Joe Gianfriddo as the successful candidate.
The City of Stonnington comprises three wards, each represented by three councillors. Joe will join sitting Councillors Jami Klisaris, currently Mayor of the City of Stonnington, and Polly Morgan as East Ward representatives.
Joe will be sworn in as a City of Stonnington Councillor by Interim CEO Rick Kwasek on Monday 23 January at 1pm.
