The John Cotton Bridge at Yea Wetlands has reopened today, Friday 5 June 2026, ahead of schedule, in time for the upcoming long weekend.
The bridge was temporarily closed while Council undertook remediation works as part of broader Wetlands Restoration activities. Completion of the works earlier than anticipated means visitors can once again access the wetlands via the John Cotton Bridge.
Council thanks the community for their patience and cooperation while the works were carried out.
Remediation of the John Cotton Bridge is part of the Wetlands Restoration Wetlands, jointly funded by the Victorian Government and Commonwealth Government under the Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) in response to the 2022, 2023 and 2024 floods.
Visitors are encouraged to enjoy the Yea Wetlands responsibly and take care when using shared paths and facilities.
