After always wanting to be a police officer, Constable Tom Richardson commenced his career in ACT Policing in 2022.
Constable Richardson knew to be successful, he needed to gain experience working with the community, so prior to joining ACT Policing, he sought career opportunities which allowed him to work with and assist people from different cultures.
Since joining ACT Policing, he has been impressed by the number of different opportunities available to him. For Constable Richardson, being a first responder when someone needs help is rewarding and provides a great sense of purpose. He acknowledges that while becoming a police officer isn't an easy task, the rewards of the job and being able to engage with the community is worth it.
