The Commonwealth and Western Australian governments have jointly announced the recipients of $7 million in grants to increase employment and recreational opportunities for people with disability in WA.
An EOI was announced in November 2018, asking for responses to deliver outcomes in employment and inclusive recreation.
This round of grant funding supports the continued transition of organisations in Western Australia to the national rollout of the Information, Linkages and Capacity (ILC) Building program.
The 42 successful recipients for the third round of ILC grants offer a diversity of services and range from peer support organisations to sporting associations and enterprise groups.
Funding amounts range from $45,000 to $330,000 and recipients include the WA Disabled Sports Association, Carers Association of WA, Autism Association of WA, and Limbs 4 Life.

The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) will roll out the ILC program nationally from July 1, 2019.
In the lead-up to the national rollout, the NDIA has been providing State and Territory governments with funding to assist organisations to make the transition to the national approach, including in WA through this EOI process run by the WA Government.
The national approach, which was announced with the recent release of the ILC Investment Strategy, will see almost $398 million of funding invested in delivering ILC over 2019-20 to 2021-22. Organisations across all States and Territories will be invited to apply for this funding throughout 2019.
As stated by Federal Minister for Families and Social Services, the Hon Paul Fletcher MP:
"ILC grants are a fundamental aspect of the NDIS, designed to empower people with disability to access their community and achieve their goals.
"These grants will provide opportunities to local groups and organisations to foster greater community inclusion and accessibility for people with disability, their families and carers to employment."
As stated by WA Disability Services Minister Stephen Dawson:
"It's my hope that this ILC funding will go a long way to substantially improving both employment and recreational outcomes for people with disability in Western Australia.
"Improving and delivering employment outcomes for people with disability remains one of the focus areas of the State Government.
"Participation in sport and recreation contributes to the health and wellbeing of all people and helps break down the barriers that once stopped people with disability from participating."
