Josh Dugan statement

The National Rugby League (NRL) has issued Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks player Josh Dugan with a Breach Notice for failing to comply with the game's Biosecurity Protocols. The notice proposes Dugan be fined $25,000.

The Breach Notice alleges Dugan attended a restaurant in Potts Point on 25 June in breach of Level 3+ Biosecurity Protocols which require players to remain at home unless training, playing or conducting essential household requirements. It is alleged that Dugan had been fully informed of his obligations by his Club and chose not to comply with them.

Dugan's attendance at the restaurant did not breach NSW Health Orders.

Dugan must also complete 14 days isolation from the Sharks squad before he is permitted to return to training.

Dugan has 5 days to respond to the Breach Notice before it is finally determined.
