Karama Incident: Police Charge Suspects for Unlawful Vehicle Use

Northern Territory Police have arrested a 13 and 18-year-old after a motor vehicle crash in Karama this morning.

Around 4am, police received reports that a Toyota Echo Sedan was stolen from a residence in Wagaman.

Two hours later, the vehicle was observed by police CCTV operators driving dangerously on McMillans Road before colliding with another vehicle at the intersection of Kalymnos Drive.

The occupants of the stolen vehicle fled the scene while the driver of the other vehicle received medical treatment for injuries.

Strike Force Trident, the Dog Operations Unit and general duties deployed to the area and located the 18-year-old female and 13-year-old male offenders nearby.

Both were arrested and are expected to be charged with traffic and property offences later today.

Detectives are urging anyone with information, particularly dash-cam footage of the vehicle, to make contact on 131 444.
