Karinya Place update

Carinity remains focused on providing the best possible care for residents of our Karinya Place aged care community in Laidley at this critical time.

All COVID-19 test results for residents and staff that Carinity has received so far have returned a negative result.

All residents were COVID tested on Wednesday night with all tests returning a negative result. All residents undertook a second COVID test yesterday. Each of these second tests also returned a negative result.

All Carinity Karinya Place staff who have been working over the past two weeks have been COVID tested. All test results for staff which we have received so far have returned a negative result.

However, our team at Karinya Place is not being complacent.

To ensure their safety, residents are staying in their rooms and our nursing staff are observing them regularly. This care includes temperature testing and assessment for any respiratory issues, three times each day.

No residents are showing any COVID-like symptoms.

Carinity staff are well trained in infection control procedures and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as facemasks. Staff do a deep clean of Karinya Place twice daily.

Carinity is continuing to work closely with Queensland Health.
