Karolinska Institutet Releases 2025 Sweden Suicide Data

The Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) has published the official cause-of-death statistics for 2025. The National Centre for Suicide Research and Prevention (NASP) has compiled and processed data on suicide in Sweden, which are now available at both national level and by county.

NASP monitors developments in suicide and self-harm across Sweden. By compiling and analysing data, we contribute knowledge that can support suicide prevention efforts at national, regional and local levels.

Statistics for 2025, based on the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare's official Cause of Death Register, are now available both nationally and by county:
