Kasper Steen Pedersen receives the award in the form of a gold medal and DKK 10,000 in recognition of his significant contributions to the field of inorganic chemistry and related disciplines. Throughout his career, Kasper Steen Pedersen has made substantial advances aimed at the synthetic tailoring of the electronic, optical, and magnetic properties of novel metal complexes and crystalline materials known as metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), which possess a lattice-like structure.

Kasper Steen Pedersen is the 33rd in the line of award recipients of the Ellen and Niels Bjerrum Chemistry Award.
