Kayakers Rescued At Townsville

Townsville Water Police have rescued two men after their kayak capsized at Middle Reef, off the Townsville coast last week.

Around 1pm on 20 April, police were called after a 62-year-old Kirwan man and a 35-year-old Annandale man were returning from Picnic Bay at Magnetic Island, when they were overturned by a large wave and were unable to get back into the kayak.

Water Police attended and provided assistance, before transporting the pair to safety.

Both men were assessed by paramedics however were uninjured.
